Lindfield Social Club Didn't Know What Hit Them But Enjoyed It Nonetheless!

Walking into the Club, we were met with a fair degree of trepidation from a number of members as they saw how much equipment we had and the size of the PA. At the sound check, we were asked to be gentle on them which we obviously did but still perhaps not as gentle as they had wanted.

They were intrigued by the fact that, as we neared the start, a number of regular BOD disciples came to watch us and started to realise that we might even be alright.

Once the gig started in earnest with Teenage Kicks, all sense of this conservative approach was removed as the noise worry was quickly replaced by a genuine enjoyment of the music, many even getting up to dance from early on.

It was a truly remarkable turnaround ultimately requiring an encore to meet the clamour. This was BOD’s first accession to the crowd’s demands and proved popular with “Rock The Casbah” and “Town Called Malice”.

Overall they had heard two full sets and by the second half the room was rocking with young, old and older showing their appreciation of our renditions. Our leading lady Kate stole the show with her three songs; Valerie, Like a Pill and Atomic but the rest did more than adequately to maintain the “buzz”.

We left the club with compliments like “the best band we have heard here in 20 years”. Yes, it might have been partly due to the late hour and some drinking but we’ll take what we can get and fully appreciate the sentiment……….BOD are OK!!!!!!!

Here’s to BOD’s return to the Club in the not too distant future.
